Rob Mapp laid down a typical stratospheric run that proved once again he's still a force to be contended with as the second stop of the USA Cable Wakeboard Tour was held June 18 at Texas Ski Ranch in New Braunfels, Texas. Mapp topped an ever-growing field of world, tour, and national champion riders to emerge the winner in the elite Open Men division. Sascha Peschl rocketed to second place with a amazing runs in his Open Men debut, edging out 2003 Tour Champion Donald Shelbrick, who landed third.
Wakeskaters took advantage of an array of new sliders and kickers now offered at Texas Ski Ranch to show off their innovation and style. TSR's Jeff Leitko edged out 2003 National Champion Zak Stone for the top spot, while Mike Vestial landed third.
The Open Women division saw Jackie Brown capturing yet another first place, while Catie Bialick took second, and Michelle Gallo finished third.
It was a day of first-ever Double S-Bends in the finals in two divisions, as Robert Graves nailed his first Double S Bend ever in practice or
competition, earning him a first place in Boys, barely edging out Jimmy LaRiche who answered with a tootsie roll off the kicker, while Doug Schumacher took top honors in the Masters Division, sticking his first Double S ever, and throwing a second one immediately after just to make his point. Congratulations to both riders, as they continue to raise the bar for all riders both young and old!
