MARYVILLE, Tennessee---Skiers Choice, Inc., manufacturer of SUPRA and MOOMBA inboard boats, is proud to announce that Rob Wolfe, Ryan Lewis, and John Buescher have joined Skier’s Choice as Materials Control Manager, Project Engineer, and Assistant Plant Manager, respectively.
Wolfe, who comes to Skier’s Choice with nine years of materials management experience, will be in charge of inventory and shipping and receiving, as well as developing and implementing material requirement planning. “In the short time Rob has been here, he has already made a tremendous difference. His background and knowledge of software systems and material control, plus his attention to detail will be key to attaining our goals in this area,” says Rick Tinker, company President.
As project engineer, Lewis will design and implement processes and product testing that will improve the overall performance and quality of Skier’s Choice products. He will also be involved in new product engineering. “We are extremely lucky to have him,” says Engineering Manager Mike Shirley. “Ryan’s knowledge, ingenuity, and motivation fit well into the engineering team.” Lewis, who holds a B.S. degree in industrial engineering from Tennnessee Technological University, has three years prior experience in boat manufacturing and design.
John Buescher also recently joined Skier’s Choice as Assistant Plant Manager. “John was instrumental in our move to the new facility in terms of plant lay out, department reorganization, and coordinating the moving process,” says Danny Welshan, Vice President of Manufacturing. Buescher will now be implementing several automated processes and focusing on increasing efficiency on the production floor. He is directly involved in employee training and developing and maintaining the Continuous Improvement Quality Program by measuring quality and tracking improvement. Buescher, who holds a B.S. in business administration from the University of Tennessee, brings to Skier’s Choice over 18 years of manufacturing experience with ten years in the marine industry.
Skier’s Choice is located in Maryville, Tennessee and is a privately owned company. It manufactures two lines of boats: Supra, the leading luxury line of wakeboard and ski boats, and Moomba, which focuses on providing "the best bang for the buck" in the market.
