The 360 Wakeboard Club in Austin, Texas held their first gathering of the year on March 9th to kick of the 2004 wakeboarding season. It was a success, as approximately 60 wakeboarders from the central Texas area showed up to meet new riding buddies, watch videos, and play pool.

The venue was Bigsby’s on 6th Street, which was a perfect setting, with large screens overhead, pool and air hockey tables, and a full bar with drink specials. Ed Harmon from Boardflix.com arrived with several newly released videos on hand including Asterisk and Blacklist, which were shown on the oversized screens. Tommy Miers from Sail and Ski towed their 2004 Super Air Nautique to 6th street and parked it in front of the bar to mark our location.

The 360 club has several events in the works for the 2004 season including a series of Aquaholics Anonymous dates, with the first one starting on April 4th with Scotty V from Boat Town sponsoring a crawfish broil for participants. The second weekend in June will be an Aquaholics Anonymous roundup of the three Texas clubs with Houston and Dallas riders meeting up at Emma Long for a weekend of riding. Waketoberfest has also been set for the third weekend of October. The meeting at Bigsby’s was such a success that they have offered to host our monthly gatherings, where we will preview upcoming videos, announce local wakeboarding news and events, and meet fellow riders. Stay tuned for more information on these events at our website http://www.360wakeboard.com.
