Pro Wakeboard Tour Part of Spring Fever in Florida

Orlando, FL (March 26, 2004) - The MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard presented by Chevrolet and GM Vortec engines becomes part of Florida's spring event madness when the 2004 Pro Wakeboard Tour season opens April 30-May 2 at the Orlando Watersports Complex.

Florida hosts just about every kind of event in the spring including pro golf, auto racing, college basketball tournament games, spring training games and not the least the opening of the competitive watersports season with the first event on the Pro Wakeboard Tour. The three-day event is one of the largest of its kind in the world with close to 200 pro and amateur
wakeboarding competitors descending on the city.

The world's top wakeboarding athletes, most of whom reside in and around Orlando, will be on hand to kick off the new season. Look for 2004 Pro Wakeboard Tour Season Champion Parks Bonifay to be on top of his game, though he will be challenged by the rest of the pro men including Shawn Watson who has won the season-opening event in each of the past two years.

2004 World Cup Champion Darin Shapiro will be hungry for a win in his hometown after being shutout in 2003. Danny Harf, another Orlando resident and 2003 X Games and National Champion will also be gunning for the top spot.

In the pro women's competition all eyes will be on Dallas Friday the 2003 Indmar points champion who won almost every major women's event in 2003. She will be challenged by 2003 Gravity Games Champion Emily Copeland and Maeghan Major who finished second in the season-opening event in Orlando last year.

The SeaDoo watercraft Pro Wakeskate series is also on tap for Orlando. This year the race should be a great one between Orlando residents Brian Grubb and Thomas Horrell.

After opening in Orlando the Pro Wakeboard Tour will continue throughout North America with four additional stops including Ft. Worth, Texas May 22-23; Reno, Nevada, June 5-6; Kelowna, British Columbia Canada, June 10-11 and the final event in Irvine, California July 17-18.

The MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour, presented by Chevy Trucks and GM Vortec Engines, is a five-event circuit organized by World Sports & Marketing of Orlando, Florida. Powered by Indmar Marine Engines, the Pro Tour has the support of the following: SeaDoo watercraft, Perfect Pass, Hyperlite, Liquid Force, Gator Boards, CWB, Jobe, Double-up, Blindside, JoyRide, Cassette Wakeskates, 484 Wakeskates, Billabong, Reef, Body Glove, UGP, Epiphone Guitars, OJ Props, Chipper Beef Jerky, Bare Wetsuits, buywake.com, Love Sac, Capix Helmets, Indo Boards, Straight Line, Nevin, ten-80, and One Percent Designs.
