Waketoberfest - One Week Away

What it is:

Waketoberfest’s birth comes from the desire of Central Texas Riders to have one last big blowout at the end of the season. Put on by the 360 Wakeboard Club (www.360wakeboard.com), the event has been held in the area of Emma Long Park on Lake Austin for the last five years and we look forward to be returning to the park again this year. Another perk of having this event in October is that the lake is less crowded and the wakeboard companies are releasing new product for the next season. The 360 club also works closely with shops and companies that support wakeboarding so they can come out and showcase those products and their services. Many of the area dealers participate and have their wakeboard specific boats available for test-drives.

When is it and what’s going on:

This year we are kicking off Waketoberfest at Bone Daddy’s on Thursday, October 16th. There is going to be happy hour specials all night long for 360 members and Waketoberfest attendees. The upper deck will be reserved for us at Bone Daddy’s with sponsor’s banners in the area. On Friday the events are going to start at The Boat Yard, which is the new restaurant located on Lake Austin right next to Hula Hut on Lake Austin Dr. We will have the outside deck reserved for us and there will be happy hour specials all night long again. Saturday there is going to be free breakfast tacos at Ski Shores in the morning. Following that at 11:00am is going to be a rider’s exhibition and double up contest. Supra and South Austin Marine have provided us with a Supra Gravity Games edition boat as the official tow boat this year for the contest and exhibition. The spaces are limited, so if you are interested in competing please email Stone Slade at Stone@360wakeboard.com. The afternoon is going to showcase four bands playing at the Pier (which is located right across the water from Emma long park) and a lot of hanging out and riding. We will be raffling off prizes all weekend long and you must be present to win. Sunday is the rest and recoup day. Most everyone starts to pack up and head home while a few people stay to ride a few more sets.
