Tigé Official Towboat for WWC Worlds

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA — Sept. 19, 2003 — For the fourth year in a row, Tigé Boats, Inc. will be the Official Towboat for the 2003 WWC World Wakeboard Championships in Sydney, Australia.

The Tigé 20V Riders Edition will pull this event from October 9–12. With more than with 20 countries participating and 150 athletes entered, the 2003 World Wakeboard Championships will be the largest grouping of rider athletes in WWC history.

“We are very excited to be towing Worlds again,” said Tigé President and Founder Charlie Pigeon. “The riders will love how our 20V’s ConvexV hull and TAPS² engineering will create a huge contest wake, ideal for competition.”

Among the competitors will be TeamTigé Pro Riders Keith Lyman, Louise Moore, Tino Santori, Daniel Watkins, Cathy Williams and previous WWC World’s Champion Erik Ruck. TeamTigé Team Manager Chris Bischoff will be one of the judges at the event.

Competition will be held at the world class Sydney International Regatta Centre, the site of the 2000 Sydney Olympic rowing course. Tigé will be donating $20,000 in prize money for the Pro Men’s and Pro Women’s divisions, and the event will be televised world wide on various channels. Athletes, fans and officials will have a chance to meet and relax on the second night of the competition during a scheduled Sydney Harbor dinner cruise. The Tigé 20V is 20 feet long with a beam of 96 inches. The official towboat will be built at Tigé Boats Australia, a licensed Tigé factory located in Queensland. It will be equipped with the Clarion Marine Tower of Power sound system and powered by the Mercury MerCruiser Black Scorpion MX 6.2 L 340 HP engine.
