Harf and Friday Win Nationals

Indianapolis, Indiana (August 24, 2003) - Fresh off victories just one week ago at the X Games, Danny Harf and Dallas Friday brought the same magic to Indianapolis as both won titles at the Built Ford Tough WWA Wakeboard National Championship, the second stop on the Vans Triple Crown of Wakeboarding Series at the Precedent's Lake Berwind on Sunday.

Harf was the first rider off the dock in the Pro Men's Final, and he set the tone for the rest of the field, sticking a run reminiscent of his winning run at the X Games. The run was highlighted by a heel-side 720 followed by a toe-side 900. Harf's run was one of the best in the history of pro wakeboarding competitions.

Harf has now become known as a big event rider who can now add a National Championship to his three X Games Golds. This is the best year for Harf who turned pro in 2000. This is Harf's third win of the season including X Games and the Masters in May.

Shawn Watson, the reigning National Champion finished second on the day, just behind Harf and Parks Bonifay finished in third to round out the podium.

The result for Friday was similar to Harf as she took the Pro Women's National Championship for her seventh consecutive victory of the season. Friday also came out early in the finals and set down a huge run and let the rest of the Pro Women's field try to equal her.

Friday defended her Pro Women's National hampionship won last year in Texas. No woman other than Friday has won a professional event in 2003. Emily Copeland the 2001 National and World Champion finished second and Maeghan Major the 2000 World Champion finished third.

In the SeaDoo Watercraft Pro Wakeskate Series, Brian Grubb took the first-ever National title. Aaron Reed finished second and Brandon Thomas finished third. Grubb adds the National title to his 2003 Pro Tour SeaDoo Pro Wakeskate Series championship.

In the Junior Men's Final JD Webb won his seventh contest of 2003, earning his first Junior Men's National Championship to go along with his 2003 Junior X Series Championship. Derek Grasman, the 2002 Junior X Champion
finished second and Justin Sellers took third.
