Stockton, CA - BoardStock, the world’s first and foremost wakeboarding lifestyle event will once again be held in Stockton, CA on September 20 & 21 of this year. The festival, now in its eighth year, is the culmination of the world’s greatest wakeboarders and freestyle motocross riders in the world, doing what they do best – exciting the crowds of people! BoardStock 2002 presented the worlds greatest wakeboarders in a freeride exhibition format that included tandem wakeboarding in the deep-water channel, where two athletes ride together flipping and spinning over one-another. The ravenous crowd went nuts for two days. Last year’s freestyle moto-cross event hosted a 24 foot and 40-foot gap jump where the athletes soared to heights of 30 feet while executing awe-inspiring technical maneuvers. In 2002 the fans were treated to the expertise of Mad Mike Jones a former X-Games finalist. This year’s event is promising to be even better with the addition of Clowers, an X-Games Gold medallist, Hart and Hilton.
Darin Shapiro, wakeboarding’s winningest rider, headlines the wakeboarding athletes. The riders will be performing aerial maneuvers like the Stalefish front to blind behind the 2003 Malibu Wakesetter in the channel. Rounding out the field are notables Shaun Murray, Josh Sanders, Gerry Nunn and Daniel Watkins. BoardStock returns to the California delta in downtown Stockton with five live bands, a skydiving exhibition, and a festival atmosphere that features wakeboarding and motocross side by side – a first for action sports. The event will be held in the Stockton deep-water channel and adjacent grounds at 500 Weber Street, Stockton, CA just underneath the I-5 overpass. Admission is $20.00 for adults, teens (13 to 17) are $15 and kids 12 & under are free with a paying adult. Tickets can be purchased at local area businesses, online at buywake.com or at the gate on September 20 & 21.
