Midwest Mission To Ride Finishing Up

By Gunnar Shuler

The Midwest Mission to Ride has only three stops remaining for the year. The overall series champions will be determined following these last three stops. Many of the divisions are still very close and will be determined by he results of the last three contests. Anyone who competes in at least four of the tour stops will be eligible for the overall titles and the great prize packages which are given to the top three finishers in each of the divisions. So if you have competed in at least one of the stops, you still have a chance to qualify for the overall. If you have not been to an event yet, you can still come out and enjoy the fun and have a chance to win the prizes that are given out at each site. Outlaw riders are awarded cash prizes at the tournaments.

This weekend, the Boarder Line in Dowagiac, Michigan will be hosting stop #10. The event will be held on Saturday August 2 at Sister Lake. Bill Boston and his crew always do an excellent job of hosting these events. Specific details about the event can be found at the Midwest Mission to Ride website at www.themmtr.com.

Next week there are two events. On Wednesday August 6th Fort Fremont Marine in Fremont, WI will host stop #11. Fort Fremont has a history of holding Wakeboard Wednesdays and this brings out a lot of local riders. With Gordy Bubolz’s wakeboard camp located nearby, you can expect to see a wide range of riders at this event. On Saturday, August 9th Rockford Marina and Watersports will be the local sponsors of the series finals. At this event the overall series champions will be announced and the final prize packages will be awarded. With the fantastic series sponsors the prizes should be great.

Chuck and Rachel McCloud, the series directors, have worked hard to put together a grassroots series to promote wakeboarding throughout the Midwest. With the help of their sponsors they have put together a group of events which promote fun and friendship as well as competition. If you have not been to a stop yet it is definitely worthwhile to turn out for as many of the last three events as possible.

Sponsors of the Midwest Mission to Ride include Nautique, Gator boards, Get High Sports, Spy Optics, Jet Pilot, World Wakeboard Center, Reef, Dakine, Clive, Flojos, Blindside, Double Up, Phase Five, Newt Juice, Rockford Marina and Watersports, Hard Line, Sector Nine, Nvert, House wakeskates, Red Bull, Gul, Indo boards, BZ boards, Ride

Details about each of the final three Midwest Mission to Ride stops can be found at their website, www.themmtr.com, or by calling the local shops and marinas that are handling the local arrangements.
