Tino Santori And Daniel Watkins Make Waves At The U.S. Pro Tour
PRESS RELEASE:
Teamtigé member Tino Santori placed first at the Kelowna, Canada Pro Tour stop on Saturday, July 13, solidifying himself as a viable competitor on Pro Tour due to rigorous training behind his Tigé 22V. Teamtigé member Daniel Watkins took second place in Kelowna, moving himself into first place for the 2003 United States Pro Wakeboard Tour. After a year of injuries, Watkins is coming back full force with dreams of being the United States Pro Tour Champion thanks to the preparation provided by his Tigé 22V.
Santori’s win at Kelowna is the first time he has ever qualified for a Pro Men’s final on the Pro Wakeboard Tour.
During the 2002 U.S. Pro Tour, Watkins sat-out half the season due to a dislocated foot and a wakeskating knee injury. Sitting on the sidelines fueled Watkins’ fire to take on 2003 with even more passion than previous years. In January of 2003 Watkins won the Australian Pro Tour placing first at all stops except one where he placed second. Watkins has been on the Pro Tour for the last five years.
“It’s still anyone’s game,” said Watkins. “Kelowna was rumored to be rough, but rough water hasn’t bothered me much. When I am training, TAPS helps me dial the wake and shape it to fit any water conditions. Also, I can make the wake look like any other boat’s wake that might be pulling for a tournament.”
Both Santori and Watkins ride behind the Tigé 22V, which is equipped with the Tigé Adjustable Performance System (TAPS) and Tigé’s ConvexV continuous rocker hull. The Tigé 22V is American Wakeboard Association approved for contest use and is the Official Towboat of the World Wakeboard Championships.
Santori’s solid white 22V Limited Edition has a Perfect Pass wakeboard pro, a Clarion Marine audio Tower of Power system featuring 17 component speakers 2 amps and a sub woofer, along with the GM Vortec powered PCM Excalibur with 335 HP. Watkins’ 22V Riders Edition is equipped with a Clarion Marine Audio and a PCM 330 HP Excalibur powerplant.
