Speedo UK is pleased to announce its sponsorship of the 2003 UK National Wakeboarding Championships. The brand will be the title sponsor of the Championships, which take place from 15-17 August at Willen Lake in Milton Keynes.
Hundreds of visitors are expected throughout the weekend to watch wakeboarders compete from all over the country. The Championships, which are the main event of the UK wakeboarding calendar, attract both young, aspiring wakeboarders and top professionals from the sport.
In addition to a strong brand presence, Speedo will be using its sponsorship of the Championships as an opportunity to leverage the brand’s association with the sport by inviting key industry contacts to watch the event and find out more about the company’s vision for the future.
This is the first time that Speedo has sponsored a wakeboarding event and follows the announcement of the company’s sponsorship of leading Wakeboarder Louise Moore in February this year. Louise, 23, who began Wakeboarding in 1998, is already the UK and European Champion and is the hot favorite to win this year’s UK championships.
This sponsorship deal highlights a new era for Speedo as the brand continues to expand and develop its product range. As well as offering a wide range of pool, beachwear, apparel, equipment and footwear for men, women and children, the company is working closely with Louise on future product development, taking its inspiration from a number of water sports including wakeboarding.
