Detroit, Michigan - The second stop on the MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour presented by Chevy Trucks and GM Vortec engines descends on Four Bears Water Park in Utica, Michigan, June 6-8 with X Games Qualifying for spots on the men's wakeboarding team for the 2003 X Games.
X Games Qualifying begins the weekend on Friday with all wakeboarders invited to compete for the coveted spots at the X Games to be held in Los Angeles, California August 16-17.
X Games Qualifying is just the beginning of the weekend. On Saturday the professionals hit the water to fight for the Detroit Tour stop championship. And, the Junior Men's division will also be competing with defending Junior Men's Champion Derek Grasman from Grand Rapids, Michigan looking to defend his title.
The Pro Tour season heats up going into the Detroit stop. As the second event of the season, this Tour is still up for grabs. Last year Wisconsin native Erik Ruck took home the Pro Wakeboard Tour's Season championship.
Ruck will be challenged by Shaun Murray who has won in Detroit three of the last four years. Shawn Watson who won the first Pro Wakeboard Tour stop of the season in Orlando on April 13, will also be gunning for Ruck's Pro Tour title.
