Speedo International, the world’s leading swimwear brand, is pleased to announce its sponsorship of Europe’s number one Wakeboarder, Louise Moore.
The sponsorship agreement runs until December 2004 and will involve Louise wearing a Speedo wetsuit and branding on her board for all competitions and training. The sponsorship deal will last for two years and as part of the agreement Louise will receive performance bonuses for the National, European and World Championships, as well as participating in Speedo’s advertising and PR campaigns throughout this period.
The sponsorship marks a new era for Speedo as it expands into other areas of the sporting world. The leading brand already offers a wide range of swim and beachwear, apparel, a beach volleyball collection, equipment and footwear for men, women and children. The sponsorship of Louise Moore is a key and exciting element of Speedo’s move into extreme sports, one of the world’s fastest growing sports industries, and supports the brand’s strong association with the world of water and increasing presence on the beach.
Louise, aged 21, is currently the UK and European Wakeboard Champion and is one of a new breed of extreme sports women. She began Wakeboarding in 1998 and is already one of the leading women in the sport, both in the UK and on the international scene. Louise says, “It is fantastic to be associated with the water worlds leading brand and I am delighted to be representing Speedo in their expansion into the extreme sports world.”
