Nixon has been making some interesting watches for awhile now, and while I am no timepiece connoisseur, I have always had my eye on Nixon's lineup. So much so, that I bought a Nixon Banks watch, which I've had for a few weeks and is quickly becoming one of my favorite purchases. You may find that to be an incredulous statement, but is a great timepiece that has started many conversations with many attractive lasses.

If you know anything about the boats I have owned, all of them have been black and white. Needless to say I am a huge fan of contrast, so I really dig the white face on the black chassis. The Banks is a very clean watch that is refined enough for everyday wear because it's bold without being obnoxious. The black TiC finish is very cool, because it looks like a black pearl finish, which contrasts awesomely with the brushed finish in the center of the band. All of the black on this watch really makes the white face pop.

Another feature of The Banks is a second clock on the face, which is nice if you have friends or family in another time zone, or if you just want to know what time it is in Zurich at any given moment.

The Nixon Banks' stainless steel construction feels really solid. With that solid construction comes peace of mind, since the Nixon Banks is water resistant to 10,000M. This watch is also weighty and feels good on my wrist. The band was a bit tight at first, but relaxed after the first day of wearing it so now it fits me perfectly. However, if your wrist is larger Nixon includes extra links for the band.

Ultimately, I wanted to wait a few weeks to review this watch because I was concerned with the black band looking terrible after a short period of time. However, the TiC coating seems to be tough as nails, which for me is a good thing, because I have known to be rough on products. The face is still without any scratches, even though I've smacked it pretty hard into things.

Conclusion: The Banks watch is great for anyone looking for a professional/casual watch that is very clean looking. The construction is solid and feels good on the wrist, so comfortable in fact that I've actually ridden with it by accident a few times. So if you need to know what time it is, and you want to look good while doing it, look into buying a Nixon watch.
