SAN DIEGO, CA - Epic Boats, in its relentless pursuit of building the premier wakeboard boat, has teamed with Kicker Marine and Sony to bring a premier audio system to the rider.
The 2008 Epic 23V standard equipment will now include a massive interior and transom audio system powered by Kicker amplifiers, subwoofers and component speakers, fed by an audiophile-grade Sony head unit with iPod ready connections.
With the addition of Kicker products to the Epic 23V, riders will be blown away by the redesigned Transom Audio System - and not just by the treble. The first to bring transom audio to a wakeboard boat, Epic now brings a pair of 8" subwoofers to compliment four (4) tweeters and four (4) mid-range speakers.
In the interior, riders enjoy Kicker's legendary clarity and power with 6 amplified mid-range drivers/tweeters and another 12" Solo-Baric sub. And of course, if you want to carry on a conversation in the boat while the rider still gets the jams, just fade the system to the rear and benefits of Epic's Transom Audio design come to life.
And don't let the marine label fool you - Kicker and Sony have developed a line of products that not only withstand the harshest of environments, but crank out the tunes with impressive sound clarity and volume. The system rivals even the beefiest of car-audio setups. And of course, Sony provides both transom and driver wired remotes, so Epic riders can be at the helm of their music anywhere on or behind their boat.
"It has been a complete and total blast working with the great people at Epic Boats and at CPS Distributors to develop the audio system for this boat, " shares Phil White, Marine and Specialty Markets Manager at KICKER.
The "no-holds-barred" approach to the audio system for the Epic 23V effectively delivers two completely separate KICKER listening zones, each powered by its own dedicated amplifier. The transom is over-the-top, with two pairs of KICKER's flagship KM625.2 marine component speakers, twin 8" L5 subs, and over 700 watts of sonic power delivered by a KICKER ZX700.5 5-channel amplifier.
"And that is only half of the package;" shares White, "There is a second 700-watt ZX700.5 amplifier dedicated to the cockpit and bow-rider areas, driving an additional 3 pairs of KICKER KM620 marine coaxial speakers and a monster KICKER L5 12" subwoofer. Pardon the obvious cheesy pun, but this boat rocks!!!"
