Dallas Friday Signs With Oakley

FOOTHILL RANCH, Calif., August 4, 2005 – Oakley, Inc. today announced the signing of professional wakeboarder Dallas Friday to an endorsement agreement for the company’s eyewear and footwear products. Dallas is regarded as one of the biggest names in wakeboarding’s history. Her determination to excel and commitment to training and love of the sport are all carry-overs from the discipline that Dallas puts forth to all activities that interest her.

“We are very excited to have Dallas join an already accomplished team of wakeboarders and wakeskaters,” said Oakley Sports Marketing Manager Matty Swanson. “The women’s product line at Oakley has grown significantly since its debut in 2002 and signing Dallas to our eyewear and footwear program strengthens our goal to be on the world’s best athletes. I look forward to working with her and helping promote the sport of wakeboarding as a whole.”

“I am very excited to be a part of the Oakley family,” said Dallas Friday. “The sunglasses are tight and the shoes and sandals fit my style perfectly! Oakley products rock!”

At the age of 13, Dallas began competing at the professional level in her first year of wakeboarding. In her rookie season she captured the prestigious America Cup title and silver at the 2000 X Games where she was the youngest competitor at the event. The following year Dallas captured her first X Games Gold medal at age 14. She continues to dominate the competition circuit having accumulated four X Games medals, 2 World Championship titles and three overall Pro Wakeboard tour titles. Additionally, she remains undefeated in her last 25 events over the past three years.

In addition Dallas hopes to create new exposure for her sport, sponsors, and tour sponsors by increasing the intensity and creativity of action for the fans through team efforts with her peers in Women’s Professional Wakeboarding. Other accomplishments include being voted “Florida’s fittest female” by Florida Sports Magazine in 2002, earning Best Female rider and the reader’s poll best rider four years running by Wakeboarding magazine, and receiving the 2004 ESPY award for Best Female Action Sports Athlete.
