Movie Premiere and Live Music featured at Texas Tour Kickoff
NEW BRAUNFELS (July 2005) - The first stop of the 2005 Texas Wakeboard Tour is scheduled for Saturday, July 30th at the Texas Ski Ranch in New Braunfels, but the pre-party kicks off Friday night at the facility! The highlight of the pre-party will be the Austin Premiere of the new “Wave Theory” wakeboard video. Wave Theory is the sophomore video release from the TBKS crew (www.texasbestkeptsecrets.com) and features some of the top riders in Texas, many of whom will be on-hand for the premiere. Local riders with video parts include Gabe Lucas, Billy North, Evan Lykes, Jack Scanio, Kurtis Rauhut, Stefan Shriewer and Billy Garcia.
The video will be shown on an impressive 20’x 40’ foot inflatable outdoor screen provided by Blue Moon Cinema (www.bmcinema.com) and Kicker Audio will be providing the sound. Following the premiere, several local bands will hit the outdoor stage at Texas Ski Ranch. Scheduled to appear are Austin bands - Dremnt the End, Fire Kills and Morningside Drive. Live music is presented by Wake Culture Clothing.
The pre-party starts at 7pm and the premiere will start when the sun goes down. The festivities will take place in and around Coconutz Bar and Grill at the Texas Ski Ranch. Coconutz has a full bar and kitchen. The Texas Ski Ranch is located at 6700 IH 35 North in New Braunfels, about half way between San Antonio and Austin.
“It’s going to be a great way to start the series” said tour organizer Bill Geiger. “It’s also a great opportunity for fans of the sport and those who want to see what it’s all about to come out and rub elbows with the athletes who will be competing on Saturday”.
