October 4th – 7th / BSR Cable Park / Waco, TX
Day 1 of the National Points Championship saw over 120 riders take the water in Amateur Wakeskate, Beginner & Intermediate Wakeboard take to the water. The competition was fierce in what has already turned into the biggest and best championship to date. On the last possible day for registration, the total rider count climbed to over 220 registrations.
BSR Cable Park has worked out to be the ideal location to host the 2012 event. The staff and site have welcomed riders from all over the country with the Texas hospitality that TSR began with the initial event 3 years ago. One of the countries newest parks has quickly become the favorite for many of the riders that have visited from one of the other 12 participating parks.
After Day one OWC holds a slim lead over Cowtown in the team point lead, while two time defending champion TSR has their work cut out, currently tied for fifth overall. For the latest results or pics from the participants, search #pointschase on instagram or visit the facebook pages for BSR or the Points Chase.
Tomorrow the Pro Riders take to the water and Saturday will be the qualifying rounds for the structure only competition. With a total cash purse of $10,000 we can guarantee the riders will be competing till the end for their share of the money.

The journey began back in July when riders qualified from 13 different cable parks for the honor to compete in the 2012 National Points Championship. With over 220 registrations the National Points Championship will be the largest wakeboard competition of the year. Not just cable but largest wakeboard competition held in the United States for the second year in a row. With new cable parks popping up all over the country this is a trend that tournament organizer Blake Hess, doesn’t see changing anytime soon. “The parks make it so easy for riders to get involved, and with the support from so many parks across the country the growth has been and will continue to be amazing.”
In just a few days the National Points Championship will begin at BSR, one of the countries newest cable parks, located in Waco, Texas. BSR is the ideal host with a beautiful park, a wonderful staff, and centrally located in the middle of Texas within a two hour drive from 5 other cable parks. The organizers of the Points Chase series have organized the event so riders compete individually like they would at any other competition, but also accrue team points to help their home park possibly win the Team Award. TSR has had a stranglehold on the team title but saw it’s lead dwindle from 600 points in 2010 to just 20 points in 2011. This year many of the Texas teams will be fielding a full team of riders so we expect a shoot out, right down to the end.
Also part of the weekend festivities is a $7500 Structure Only Wakeboard event. One of the most exciting divisions of the weekend, you definitely won’t want to miss the packed heats of riders competing simultaneously. For more information log onto www.PointsChase.com, check us out on facebook and as always #pointschase on your related instagram pics. The event would not be possible without the help from our sponsors: Parson’s Roofing, BSR, Jobe, O’Brien, CTRL and Liquid Force.

Since The first System 2.0, a majority of attention in wakeboarding has started to shift towards cable parks. While a majority of the United States visual market is broadcasted at boat and tournament wakeboarding, the majority of financial investment and board development is trending towards cable. In 2008, there were only seven cable parks that were operating in the United States. By 2010, there were 27 in operation with many in the works. This year, Texas Cable wakeboarding solidified its national importance with an amazing clockwise cable located in central Texas.
Barefoot Ski Ranch, or BSR for short, is 15 minutes east of I-35 in Waco Texas. This laid back cable park hosts one of the most pristine
wakeboarding environments in United States. From the obstacles, to the flat water, to the facilities on the grounds, BSR provides a relaxed and enjoyable wakeboarding experience that is unique to most cable parks in the United States
The obstacles and layout of the cable park are both wakeboard and wakeskate friendly.
Each obstacle has a variety of lines and approaches that allow any level of rider progress or expand their creativity on all of the obstacles. With the addition of a kink rail in the near future and other obstacles, BSR is making a statement in the Texas wakeboard scene that they have one of the premier cable parks in the United States.![]()
ABILENE, TX – Tige Boats, Inc. has dominated the inboard boat manufacturers’ customer service with the recent earning of its eight consecutive years of excellence in customer satisfaction as part of the National Marine Manufactures Association (NMMA) CSI Award Program. Earning this award continues Tige’s streak as the longest standing inboard manufacturer to receive the award, with its eighth consecutive year.
The NMMA independently measures the standard of excellence by evaluating surveys of new boat buyers. New boat buyers received a customer satisfaction survey after purchasing their boat. A second survey was then sent to the customers after a few months of use with their boat. NMMA then compiled the results of both surveys to assess the level of customer satisfaction with the product, dealer and other CSI related factors. The program also recognizes Tige Boats for its commitment to quality and its support to pursue continuous improvement to better serve the boating customer.
“Keeping Tige families enjoying their Tige is a top priority,” said Rick Correll, Tige President. “As the only inboard manufacturer to be awarded CSI eight years running, shows our commitment and dedication to providing the best on the water experience possible.”
Tige Boats is an independent, design-driven company, celebrating over 20-years of uncompromising boat design. Tige produces a unique product line ranging from 20 to 24 feet in length, supporting a dealer network serving 19 countries, including United Statesand Canada. Want more Tigé?
