On the weekend October 27th, colleges from the South Eastern United States gathered in Shreveport Louisiana for USA Wakeboard’s South Central Regional Qualifier/ Louisiana Collegiate Wakeboard Tour to battle for top spot and bragging rights as teams begin to qualify for the Alt Games held in the early summer of 2013.Hundreds of spectators lined the park downtown to watch some great riding in a great venue downtown, and they were not disappointed! Saturday Showcased the Beginner, women’s, Advanced, And non-collegiate open division with the open winner received $800 cash. Collegiate commodore and rivalries flared with cowbells, daiquiris, and real time score checks from announcers as Saturday progressed. Some of the more spirited riders also rode in full costume to win a liquid force sst wakeskate for the best costume. The following morning, the Wakeskate, intermediate, and collegiate open divisions finished off the tournament in a timely fashion so school were able to safely travel home before school. In the end, University of Louisiana Monroe took the overall collegiate title, the University of Texas placed 2nd, and Texas Tech placed 3rd.
