New Braunfels, TX – TSR’s final event of 2004 will take place September 25th & 26th. This event will bring together different worlds as Truckin’ Magazine will host it’s second annual Extreme Truck Show in conjunction with TSR’s final showdown wake and skate competitions. Lets not forget the sky diving exhibition, live music, a bikini contest, and TSR’s Beach, Motocross Park, Cable Lake, and Skate Park that will be open to the public during non-event times.
The two day Wakeboard events will be two separate competitions held on the cable lake and boat lake. Each will have four divisions: Beginner, Advanced, Pro and Wakeskate. Entry fee for the Pro Division is $110 for one competition or $190 for both. All other divisions are $40 for one or $70 for both. The pro divisions will begin with a typical heat format to narrow the field to just 8 competitiors. At that point the format will switch to the popular Texas style Head-2-Head format originated at Texas Ski Ranch. Riders will flip a coin to see who hits the water first, after riding, judges will determine who will advance on in the bracket. All other divisions will compete in a heat style format where riders will ride against upto 7 other riders in their heat, with the top riders advancing to the next round. The Pro Division will have a cash purse of $5000 for the boat competition and $1500 for the cable competition. The other divisions will be riding for merchandise provided by event sponsors and the Board Shop, TSR’s in house pro shop.
The SkateBoard tournament will be held on Saturday only with only one division. This tournament will showcase the areas best riders as the compete for $1000 as well as a highly sought after spot on the judges panel for Truckin’ Magazine’s Bikini Contest. Skaters will use a similar format to the pro division in wakeboarding, but will also have a best trick comp where one rider will take home 100 bucks for a single trick.
Other highlights for the weekend include San Marcos Skydiving kicking off the weekend Saturday morning with a skydive exhibition landing the small island inside the TSR cable lake. On both Saturday and Sunday the Extreme Truck Show that will showcase over 150 trucks in six different categories: Lifted Customs, Full Size Truck Lowered, Mini Truck Lowered, SUV, Custom Classic Truck and Best of Show. Entry fee for the car show is $25 / $30 the day of. Before the Awards ceremony on Sunday, Truckin’ Magazine will also host their Second Annual Bikini Contest. Saturday night on TSR’s main stage the Stacy Barnhill band and Grimy Styles will be performing live. Finally there is always several different action sports you can participate in at TSR if you get a little bored just watching.
