Correct Craft Athletes Make Strong Showing At Vans WWA Championships
Keith Lidberg and Melissa Marquardt both placed third in the Vans WWA Wakeboard National Championships towed by Super Air Nautique 210 Team Edition in Indianapolis, Indiana. This huge event was held August 19th–22nd at Precendent Office Park. The Vans Triple Crown is the largest wakeboarding series in the sport, consisting of three championship events.
Lidberg, a head coach at The Projects in Orlando, Florida, has been competing on the men’s pro wakeboard circuit since 2002. Lidberg made his presence known when he dominated the competition last year at the Wakeboard Cable Nationals taking first place. Lidberg, who recently signed with Correct Craft, finished third with 64.95 points at Nationals. When asked how it felt to place third, Lidberg said, “Crazy, unexpected after the year I’ve had. I finally made it past the quarterfinals and then made it on the podium to top it off.” Lidberg added, “It was nice riding behind an Air Nautique in a tournament and finishing in the top three.”
Marquardt, who has been with Correct Craft since 2000, landed in third place with a score of 49.22. Marquardt has been on the women’s pro wakeboard circuit since 1999. She is an accomplished rider having taken second place at the 2003 X-Games. Commenting on her win in Indianapolis, Marquardt said, “It was pretty cool. It was comfortable and fun riding behind an Air Nautique because I like it the best.” “Correct Craft is proud of the up and coming athletes that we sponsor and their accomplishments,” said Vice President of Marketing, Gary Meloon.
