ABILENE, TEXAS – Tigé Boats Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Chris McCafferty to national sales manager. McCafferty has been associated with Tigé since 2001 and brings over 25 years of marine industry experience to his new position.
“Chris has been a huge asset to our sales team,” said Charlie Pigeon, CEO of Tigé. “We are confident that all of his experience in both the marine industry and in assisting our dealers will add even more depth to our growing sales department.”
McCafferty becomes national sales manager after entering the company as a product manager. He was responsible for handling East Coast and international dealer training while assisting those dealers in increasing market share through product sales and customer service. He also coordinated logistical efforts associated with magazine boat tests, pro contests, special events and photo shoots. McCafferty joined Tigé in November of 2002 as quality control and lake-test manager. In 2001, he and his father Mick McCafferty founded the Tigé dealership Midland Marine in Castle Donnington, Derby, UK.
“This opportunity is a dream-come-true,” remarked McCafferty. “I’ve always wanted to work for Tigé and give my effort to make them the best inboard water sport boat in the industry. I will work hard to keep Tigé dealers very competitive in their respective markets and give them every possible tool and advantage so they will be able to better sell the Tigé product.”
McCafferty first entered the marine industry in 1981 when he began waterskiing in the United Kingdom. He was a member of the 1985 UK National Water Ski Squad, won the UK Division Championship in 1996, and was the manager of the Churchwilne Water Ski School and the Churchwilne Water Sports Club.
Tigé Boats is headquartered in Abilene, Texas. It manufactures eight direct drive and sport V inboard models ranging from 20 to 24 feet in length, and all are backed by the Tigé LifePlus lifetime replacement warranty. Tigé has more than 80 dealers in 10 countries.
