Dragon Ghost Review

By: Jacob Sagemuehl

Aside from the standard board, rope, and jacket; the accessory many riders find necessary for a day on the water is a good pair of shades. I needed a pair myself, so I picked up a pair of Dragon's new Ghost line of sunglasses.

The Ghosts come in a variety of colors including Black Cherry, Jet, Silver Opal, and a leopard style print which Dragon calls tortoise. They are noticeably bigger than other popular Dragon models such as the Trap. Despite this, they don't feel bulky. But they do cover a larger area of your face which results in better sun blockage. Overall, the Ghosts fit comfortably and naturally while maintaining a contemporary and stylish aesthetic.

According to Dragon, the lenses are made of shatter-proof polycarbonate and block all harmful UV and blue light. They also offer the glasses with polarized lenses, although unfortunately only in the Jet model.

The frames are durable yet flexible and light but not fragile. One thing I really like about the frames is that they are Rx adaptable. I've been wearing prescription glasses for about two years now and I never mess with contacts. So, it's nice to be able to switch out the regular lenses with prescription lenses. An added bonus is that prescription lenses keep other people from wearing your glasses.

With the Ghosts, Dragon gives you a great quality to price ratio. You can grab a pair for as little as $75. They're comfortable, durable, and most importantly they just look cool. Check out your local shop to see what Dragon has to offer.
