Besides redefining the company mission and adopting a new motto – Held To A Higher Standard – MasterCraft has embellished all the new 2004 ProStar, MariStar and X-Series boats with lots of new enhancements. It has even added a new model to the company’s diverse lineup – The X-80.
You’ll be surprised by the number of detailed changes MasterCraft has made on the heels of the most successful mid-year new product introduction in the company’s history. After all, it was just 6 months ago that MasterCraft released the twin-tipped 2003 X-Star and MariStar 280 VLD, requiring 51 feet of extensive research and development. But that hasn’t slowed down the company’s pace in pursuit of perfection.
Here’s a quick glimpse of what’s new at MasterCraft for 2004.
In short... No changes have been made to the tournament tested and AWSA approved record capable ProStar running surfaces. However, the interiors have been greatly enhanced with a midnight black dash console, armrest and glove box lid. The dashes are highlighted with a brushed gray appliqué, metallic gauges with chrome bezels and a new tachometer LCD display. The armrests have similar appointments around the shifter knob and stereo remote. Elsewhere in the interiors, there's a new one-piece motor box design ornamented with an anodized billet aluminum cup holder tray and grab handle. The motor box, side panels and leg rolls have also been restyled for 2004 with perforated vinyl accents.
The special edition ProStar 190, 197 & 209 Sammy Duvalls are dramatically different this year. Orders for these boats have spiked dramatically! Take one look and you'll see why. They have a classic pinstripe gelcoat scheme emblazoned with Sammy Duvall logos on the side and come with after-market parts you won't see anywhere else. They come standard with a special edition 350 hp MasterCraft MCX with chrome valve covers and a chrome plenum, a custom embroidered interior, black rub rail, black windshield cap, black anodized fuel fill cap, cleat trim rings, a black ski pylon, black steering wheel cover and a black shifter knob. The cockpit also has a black dash pod accentuated with a black dash appliqué, mounted by stainless steel screws, gauges highlighted by bright anodized bezels and a new tachometer LCD display. The one-piece motor box is also highlighted with black anodized billet cup holders and a matching motor box handle.
No changes have been made to MasterCraft's popular X-Series hulls. Each carves a perfectly shaped wake for a variety of different ability levels. However, one boat has been added to the line-up for 2004 - The X-80! All 2004 X-Series boats will come standard with Zero Flex Flyer towers, board racks, KGB ballast systems, bump'n Clarion AM/FM CD sound systems and enhancements that include new hull graphics, a new clamping board rack design, a midnight black dash console, armrest and glove box, new white gauge faces with chrome bezels, an improved tachometer LCD display, and a new restyled gray-based interior with perforated vinyl leg rolls and accents. The 2004 tower speakers and 55-watt lights have also been restyled into a new bullet-shaped design.
No changes have been made to MasterCraft's luxury runabout MariStar hulls. They are still 100% V-bottom hulls and VectorDrive power perfectly appointed for comfort. The wood grain and chrome appointed interiors will also stay the same for 2004 except for a new standard tachometer LCD display that toggles hour meter, clock, temperature and alarm messages.
MasterCraft's world record towboats and luxury performance powerboats will also continue to rely on GM Vortec powerplants marinized by Indar. Each uses the latest MEFI-IV software and is certified with the California Air Resources Board Three Star Ultra-Low Emission rating. The 2004 MasterCraft MCX, LQ9 and L-18 each have a new one-piece fuel rail system designed to eliminate return-to-tank fuel lines. The 2004 MCX also has a new tuned port high performance exhaust system that significantly increases torque.
And... Just in case you were wondering, the MasterCraft X-Star and MasterCraft MariStar 280 VLD, introduced midway through the 2003 model year, will include all the same great features in 2004.
