The Oklahoma Wakeboard Association will be hosting the 3rd annual Southern Plains Festival (SPF) at Lake Eufaula, Aug. 3rd thru 5th. This year we are dedicating the event to our dear friend Shawn Akers who recently passed away. Shawn was a big help in starting the OWA and promoting wakeboarding in the state of Oklahoma and will be greatly missed. Last years festival brought hundreds of people from over 6 states together to ride. For those of you who don't know about SPF, the Southern Plains Festival is an annual wakeboarding festival, where people from all over the region can get together to meet and greet other boarders that share their same obsession.
This years event will be held in Eufaula Cove (same as last year) at Lake Eufaula in eastern Oklahoma. Lake Eufaula is a huge resort lake with tons of great coves, and plenty of glass to ride on for everyone. This years festival will consist of Thomas Marines Wakeboard Tournament (pulled by a sweet Nautique) with $500 going to the top Outlaw rider and tons of cash and product going to all classes in the tournament. Malibu boats will be pulling the Double Up contest and Kicker will be sponsoring the SPF Super Stereo Contest so get your boats stereo cranked up and ready for some tough competition and of course their will be a huge raffle. And when there isn't something going on in the cove, everyone can go find some smooth water to show off their new moves they learned this summer. The band SOL will be back to rock the party and sing "Jump the Wake", just like last year. And of course Karaoke will be going on all night long. There will be booths from our sponsors with all the latest gear and demos for everyone.
This years SPF will be the biggest and best yet and one you don't want to miss.
