Big news coming out of the Northeast today! The WICed Fest 2001 crew has been silently chugging along with all our behind the scenes work and we have some major announcements to make!
First off, for those of you who don't know, WICed Fest, the Wakeboarding In Connecticut Festival, is a gathering of wakeboarders in the Northeast with the sole intention of gathering some of the most hardcore riders around for a weekend of riding and partying! This 4th year event has grown from a small gathering of 50 or so people in the summer of 1998 to the attendance record shattering event last summer that saw over 400 absolutely stoked Northeast riders ripping up the waters of Candlewood Lake.
Just like the last two WICed Fest, this year's WICed Fest will take place on Candlewood Lake with the Marina at Cottonwood Cove serving as the headquarters this year. We are going back to the spot that really put WICed Fest on the map with the intention of throwing the biggest wakeboard party the Northeast has ever seen! With this spot in mind, we are excited to announce a rough schedule of events :
Friday, June 8th
- Arrivals
- Meet and Greet
- Get the boats wet at the State Launch RIDE!
- 4-6pm - Happy Hour at the Marina with beers and DJ spinning
- Down the Hatch - Liquid Force Welcomes You to the WICed Fest Party
- Drink specials, free Liquid Force Giveaways, including a free board
Saturday, June 9th
- Wake Up and Ride (Early morning water is the best!)
- RIDE - All Day!
- Cookout
- Demos
- Bands playing - including Windfall, Dead 50's, Big Top Low, and others
- 4:00pm - Double Up Contest sponsored by Double Up Wakeboards
- Night Life - Luau at the Marina
- Come and get laid!
- Lots of free stuff
- DJ Corvair spinning
Sunday, June 10th
- Wake Up and Ride (Early morning water is the best!)
- RIDE - All Day!
- Demos
- 1:00pm - Water Trampoline Contest at the Marina
- Go Home and start waiting till next year!

With all this information, there's even more! Mike Weddington, owner of Origin Wakeboards and all-around mad ripper, and CJ Kelly, current World Masters Champion and sponsored AXIS rider, will be in attendance and the speculation is starting to rise on a few other pro riders! WICed Fest 2001 is going to put all the other WICed Fests to shame!
