2004 Preview: Hyperlite Temet 138

Manufacturer's Description

A twin profile with a directional bottom design. Shaun Murray’s speedy new freeride shape is the perfect blend of powered transfer turns and additional stability riding switch. You can’t ride the same both ways, so why are most boards symmetrical?

After 13 different Hyperlite freeride shapes and years working with our design team Murray knows exactly what he is looking for in speed, edge control, air, and release.

He’s always been aware of every characteristic in his pro model, which is the reason why Fluid, Murray, Belmont and now Temet boards have been our most universal high-end shapes.

The foundation of our team – Shaun took all of his favorite qualities into a new shape that rewards switch riding. One end of the board comes with two center molded-in fins and the two detachable fins are closer to the rail of the board. This end reacts quicker, offers stronger carves, and more overall stability. The other end has two detachable fins that are further away from the rail of the board and subtle molded fins on the outside for mellower transitioned turns. Shaun also designed ten distinct asymmetrical speed channels flowing thru the belly of the board, which quickens up the ride thru a turn and into the wake. These channels combined with four shallower detachable and molded-in fins allows for an even amount of pressure throughout the entire board. This has always been the key to his freeride feel.
