WICed Fest 2002 - Riding & Lifestyle

WICed Fest isn't just about wakeboarding, it's about the wakeboarding lifestyle as well. For that reason, the organizers of the WICed Fest have decided to put together not only a grassroots festivals that celebrates riding, but a festival that celebrates the wakeboarding lifestyle. Here's how we plan on accomplishing that goal:

Bands
As has been the case for the last three WICed Fests, we'll have bands playing all day on Saturday. We had so many people looking to play this year and I thank everyone for their interest. The lineup will look like this:

On top of all these bands, we will have DJ Brian Blair spinning cool beats at the Malibu Luau Saturday night. All this music for free! Does it get any better than this?

Lifestyle
Well, it does get better than that. Throughout the weekend, we'll be having all our sponsors showcasing their newest gear. On top of that, we have invited some people who are involved in the lifestyle aspect of boardsports to come on out.

Famed NYC artist Craig Colorusso will display a special "chill out" room at The Marina. Like the name says, this room will be a place for people to just chill out and hang while they're not riding or listening to the bands.

Artist Jay Crockett of Lucky Soul Tattoo will have a tent set up to display his work. Festers are more than invited to check out the incredible work that Jay has done and ask him any questions you have. This is going to be a great exhibit, but be warned, this tent is for display only; there will not be any ink work done on-site.

In addition to those two exhibits, Brookfield Community Chiropractic will have an area set up for those of us in pain! What a great addition! Also, the front row of slips will be dedicated to Malibu and East Coast Flightcraft!

Liquid Force Party at Down the Hatch
Friday night, Liquid Force Wakeboards will be sponsoring a party at Down the Hatch, a restaurant/pub located directly on the lake. Pull your boat up and join the fun! You'll have to be 21 to drink, but for those of you underage WICed Festers, you're more than welcome to come down and grab some grub. We'll be giving away wakeboards and other gear there! There will also be drink specials from Pete's "WICed" Ale!

Malibu Luau at The Marina
For a more laid back atmosphere, come on down to The Marina Saturday night for the Malibu sponsored Luau! We'll have a Tiki Hut serving up frozen drinks. Again, must be 21 to drink, but we're working on having virgin drinks for you youngin's. The docks will have tiki torches running along them and from 8:00 - 10:00 p.m. DJ Brian Blair will be spinning cool beats. We're also going to have a video of some sort playing and a huge luau style barbeque! There will be more giveaways at this bash!

With all this fun and excitement, there's still going to be tons of riding going on as well. Be sure to get your sleep in the week before because once you hit Candlewood Lake the weekend of June 7th-9th, it's partying time!

So remember to come on down and check out the biggest wakeboarding event in the Northeast - WICed Fest 2002!
