2009 Nashville Boat Show

The 2009 Nashville Boat Show took place January 7-11 at the Nashville Convention Center. Dealers and vendors were optimistic for the upcoming season and were eager to share their knowledge, enthusiasm and passion with everyone from prospective buyers to casual attendees.

If you are in the market for a new or used boat, I highly suggest you attend a boat show in your area. Do your research ahead of time and know what dealers will be there and what inventory they have. Also, if you are a prospective buyer, stay focused when you arrive and stay away from the drink. There will be plenty of time to party after you negotiate your deal. The current economic downswing results in a favorable buyers market, at least for qualified buyers. Dealers are looking to move their product and the price reductions and buyer incentives at Boat Shows are simply incredible.

Best of luck to anyone in the market for a new or used boat and enjoy the upcoming 2009 season. It will be here before you know it.

Nautiques by Correct Craft:

The Orlando based boat manufacturer continues to excel and improve. The Nautique graphics have been enhanced and the Team Edition even has the crest graphic applied to the interior carpeting. The Polk audio sound system has been upgraded and the sound quality is amazing. They now offer two different towers including the new FCT3, a patent pending tower design. Add the swivel board racks and the optional Bimini with storage racks and it is one of the most appealing and storage friendly tower packages for 2009. Also be on the lookout for the Byerly Limited Edition 210.

Tige and Centurion:

Tennessee Tige, the local Tige and Centurion dealer, had three of each manufacturer's boats on display. Tige's lineup included the Z1, Rz4 and 22Ve. Centurion's included the Falcon V Air Warrior, Avalanche C4 and Enzo 220.

Both manufacturers have new towers for 2009. Tige introduced the Alpha Z Tower and Centurion introduced the Gladiator Tower. Both are eye catching designs, especially when fully accessorized.

For buyer incentives, Tennessee Tige was offering major price reductions off MSRP and rewarding new boat buyers with a Family water sports package that included a wakeboard combo, wake surfboard, water ski combo, and a performance inflatable ($1500.00 value). They hope to extend this offer into the Spring.

Mastercraft:

Performance Marine represents Mastercraft and represents them well I might add. They were greeting attendees at the main street entrance with a trailered CSX 220, Mastercraft's cross sport, center console boat. The standouts on the show room floor were two loaded X Stars with factory installed custom boat wrap graphics. Boat wraps are becoming more accessible through dealers and direct from factories and they are even attainable for existing boat owners. According to the dealers, expect pricing to run about $3500+ for a custom wrap on a late model wake boat.

As a buyer incentive, Performance Marine is working with Cash Rewards, Inc. to offer a "cash back" program for qualified applicants. This is structured like a rebate and can give the buyer up to $10,000 cash back from the original purchase price. Combine that with huge reductions off MSRP and you have quite an enticing offer.

Malibu Boats:

Malibu continues to be a leader in new technology concepts with their optional MaliView 6.5 color display dashboard screen. The internal MLS ballast is massive and the power wedge displaces up to another 1200lbs to help you shape and define the wake.

TNT Watersports, the local Malibu dealer, was on site with an impressive fleet of Wakesetter towboats. They also had a black Malibu Corvette Limited Edition Sport V that drew steady attention from both boating and automotive enthusiasts. Another highlight was a massive Wakesetter 247 with a unique red flake gel coat and custom tandem trailer. Every Wakesetter on the floor looked to be assembled and accessorized perfectly and the boat show prices were insanely low.

Supra & Moomba:

Skiers Choice, Inc., the makers of Supra and Moomba, made the trip from East Tennessee. One of the highlights was a 2009 Supra World's Edition 21V with Supra's signature "black out" gelcoat. The graphics included a custom gold boat wrap with gold World's Edition insignia. The World's Edition Series boats have upgraded stereo and speakers, a Roswell 4-speaker light bar with LED lights, Z-5 cargo racks, dual batteries, plus an upgraded tandem trailer. Supra has also teamed with Liquid Force and will be offering a Supra Launch 22V Liquid Force Special Edition. All Supra boats come standard with the award winning Indmar ETX CAT 5.7L V-8 340HP engine.

Supra and Moomba are offering a "Pick 5 for $495" upgrade package where you can pick 5 accessories that can total as much as $3600 for an additional $495 on your purchase price. They are also offering cash back incentives to qualified buyers and additional $1000 discounts on all remaining 2008 models.
