Louisiana Spring Fling (LSF) has been going strong since 1998. People come from all over the United States for this event which kicks off the wakeboarding season for everyone. Originally created by Marty Head, LSF attracts over 1000 spectators and 100 boats for the weekend. This event generates around or over $100,000 into the community in which it is held. This figure is based upon local hotel bookings, entertainment, food, beverages and boat fuel.
Since its origin in 1998, LSF has been the South's premier wakeboarding event. To continue the legacy of good times, good friends and good memories we have moved this year's event to the heart of the wakeboarding community in Louisiana. This year's event will be held near Lafayette, Louisiana in the Henderson Basin area at a local spot known for constant butter and beautiful shorelines. The goal this year is to restore the event and refuel the fire for the sport of wakeboarding in Louisiana. Spring Fling is not a contest. It's a gathering of enthusiasts to meet, party and spend a weekend on the water and enjoy the Downtown Lafayette party scene together. This year's event will not be one to miss.
LSF will kick off on Friday, April 27, 2007 with a free ride day. Attending will be a host of local and national vendors in the water sports industry.
Friday night will be the ever famous bonfire and video premier at McGee's Landing followed by the bikini and board shorts startup party at Stan's Night Club - Downtown Lafayette.
Saturday the party starts at 7am with a breakfast being prepared by the Cajun cooks over at McGee's, our host for the weekend, from there it's a mix of free rides, vendor booths and giveaways. We will have the raffle for the new Pimp Winch being donated by Pimp Winch as well as the water trampoline being donated by West Marine. At 1pm we will be hosting the world famous Hawaiian Tropic model search contest (WHOO WHOO)! We'll wrap it up at 6 pm with everyone grabbing there boards and heading over to the McKinley Street Strip for the LSF '07 Rail Jam being sponsored by Rukus Board Sports, lousianawakeboarding.com and Shanahan's on the strip with the winner taking home a $1,000 prize.
After that will be the ever famous Saturday night after party at Shanahan's.
Sunday's will be vendor day and the last free ride day. Later in the afternoon we will host the LSF double up contest which boasts a $1500 bounty sponsored by Correct Craft and our LSF Platinum sponsor John and Tamera with Melton Marine.
Book your hotel rooms or houseboats and tell your friends that Louisiana Spring Fling 2007 promises to be the largest wakeboard festival around.
