Muncie, IN -- Muncie Wakeboard Club, a local water ski club, will host a fun-filled Wakeboard tournament open to skiers and riders of all ages and abilities. As part of the National Wakeboard League series, the event will take place September 10, 2006 at The Water Bowl. All local water sports enthusiasts are encouraged to join in the fun.
"We are excited to be working with the community to bring this event to Muncie," said Tournament Director Chris Walker. "The National Wakeboard League offers everyone a chance to participate and compete, regardless of experience level, and we hope to see many local residents take advantage of this opportunity. For over 20 years The Water Bowl has hosted local and state water ski and wakeboard competitions, but this events marks the first time for a National Championship. We are very honored. Admission is FREE and we urge the community to support this extreme sport that is like snowboarding and skateboarding but on water. Boys and Girls, as young as 6, show how they have learned to jump the wake. Outlaw division riders stomp inverts like the TRANTRUM, spins like OFF-AXIS 540's, and superman's with a grab like the HOOCHIE GLIDE and the insane superman with a handle pass 360 called the 313."
The National WAKEBOARD League was designed to provide fun, non-intimidating tournaments in which participants can learn and compete with skiers and riders of similar abilities. Music, games, contests, prizes and awards all contribute to the festive atmosphere of these tournaments, which draw recreational and experienced boaters and water-lovers alike.

The National Ski League, National Wakeboard League and National Barefoot League comprise USA Water Ski's grassroots series.
