Lake Elsinore, CA — Andrew Adkison of Orlando, Florida pulled off an individual and team victory at the inaugural Air Nautique Wake Games in Lake Elsinore today. Adkison won the final in the pro men’s division to give him the title, but the victory also clinched the team championship for the team he captained Team Adkison.
Adkison scored a 100.00 to win the marquee event of the contest, the pro men’s final, topping Tino Santori’s 87.5 and Trevor Hansen’s 76.5.
The victory in his division for Adkison gave Team Adkison an additional 100 points in the team competition to give his team 460 points for the weekend enough to top the second place team captained by Hansen.
Team Adkison took three-first places in the running team totals with Adkison’s win in pro men, Raequel Hoffman’s win in pro women and Savannah Barber’s win in women’s wakeskate. Paulie Koch, competing in junior boys, and pro men rider Aaron Rathy rounded out the five-person victorious team.
Hoffman’s win in pro women was a bit of a surprise as she knocked off local favorite Melissa Marquardt, from nearby Canyon Lake. Eddie Valdez, also of Canyon Lake, also fell short finishing fifth in junior men. But Eddie’s younger brother, Jacob, did win one for the local crowd topping the field in the boys division.
