Mastercraft X-1: The Legacy Continues

Vonore, TN – Big wakes and modest dollars are not mutually exclusive. Case in point: MasterCraft is repackaging the best-selling, most decorated wakeboard boat in history– the same boat that’s pulled the X Games and Pro Tour since Day One; the boat Parks Bonifay rode to multiple MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour and X Games titles; the boat that has sent junior riders to the pro level, and given every amateur rider who ever dreamed of landing his first invert at least a fighting chance. And now for the jaw-dropper; the X-1 is now priced for the masses – fully equipped with a single-axle trailer for $39,995.

The 2006 X-1, over ten years in the making, will continue to make waves this year thanks in large part to its proven wakeboarding heritage – a reputable hull 2006 Mastercraft X-1which has shaped the industry, literally. A 91-inch beam and smooth running surface combine to provide thick, clean wakes with a crisp lip that brings imagined tricks to life. Factor in the standard KGB ballast system and drivers can control the wake size with just the push of a button.

The X-1 was the first production wakeboard boat to incorporate a stylish tower, and it remains in 2006: the standard Zero Flex Flyer tower design, with its beefy 2 ˝-inch aluminum posts and patented nylon WearGuard insert with USCG-approved tower running light, gives riders a higher pulling point for launching off the wakes and dramatically increased hang-time. And since every MasterCraft tower is thru-bolted to the industry-leading integrated aluminum backing plates right inside the fiberglass, you won’t have to worry about that safe and secure pull ever going away.

2006 Mastercraft X-1The X-1 comes standard with the ballast-pushing 310 hp GM Vortec RTP-1 engine. This multi-port EFI V-8 ensures that throttle response, torque, and power – even with heavy loads -- are always in excess and it now comes packaged with second-generation digital throttle control, CAN computer technology, standard MasterCraft Cruise, a no nonsense cruise control system, and the latest in Delphi ECM software, giving the X-1 unprecedented control and accuracy.

At nearly 21 feet in length, the X-1 is also nimble enough for tight double-ups and large enough to seat 11 people. With an open bow, wraparound seating amidship and a 3-piece sundeck, you can spread out and store your gear below the integrated underseat storage, or up above on the tower.

Maybe most importantly, every MasterCraft X-Series boat also comes with an excess of style. The 2006 X-1 continues to set the wakeboard trend with new graphics, new black-faced gauges, new hammered metal vinyl textures, and gelcoat colors that grab attention, further solidifying its legacy as the icon of all wake generations -- yesterday, today and tomorrow.
