Louise Moore Wins UK National Wakeboard Championships

Louise Moore wakeboarderEuropean No. 1 Louise Moore once again retained her Senior British Pro Title at last weekend’s National Wakeboarding Championships from Thorpe Lakes.

The Speedo sponsored rider was at her storming best as she held off fierce competition from her vastly improved GB rivals and close friend Robi Rendo of Argentina, the 2004 World Champion. Also present was leading Australian rider Kath Moore who finished 3rd. Robi eventually finished 2nd.

Lou said, “I was delighted to win again, particularly as Robi’s been riding really well and the pressures always on me more at the UK Nationals.” “The weather wasn’t the best over the weekend and made things a little tricky but I felt I rode really well and now feel in great shape to do well at the Worlds in September.”

This latest win for Louise was her sixth consecutive Nationals title and sets her up nicely for the forthcoming World Championships in Russia on the 1st and 2nd of September. She’ll then finish her season at the World Cup Tour in Russia (3rd-6th Sept), before heading to Italy for the final stop of their domestic Tour on the 17th and 18th September. Having won the first two stops, she’s in pole position to win the overall Italian Tour Title.

In the Men’s Pro Division, defending Champion and Speedo ambassador Dan Nott qualified in first place for Sunday’s final, only to fall twice during his run to end his hopes of retaining his title.

The title went to Matt Lammers of South Africa with Britain’s Ben Hitch finishing as runner-up.
