Tigé Names New National Sales Manager

ABILENE, TEXAS – After building one of the company’s most successful dealerships, Terry Barrett has joined Tigé Boats Inc. as national sales manager.

Barrett comes to the Abilene, Texas,-based inboard company after operating Tigé Precision Boats in Mesa, Arizona. He founded the dealership with his wife Betsy in 1996, when all of the primary inboard competitors in the Phoenix market were already well established. The Barretts immediately began building market share in the area and earned “1996 Tigé Rookie of the Year”. Since then, Tigé Precision Boats has become one of the world’s top performing Tigé dealerships and has been a consistent market share leader in the highly competitive Phoenix market. The dealership also continues to rank among the world’s top three Tigé dealerships in terms of volume and customer service ratings.

While operating his dealership, Barrett has also been active with Tigé on a corporate level, assisting with photo shoots, events and serving on the company’s dealer advisory council.

Before becoming a Tigé dealer Barrett completed a distinguished 25-year career with the fire department in Tempe, Arizona, where he served as assistant fire chief and earned numerous merit awards including “Firefighter of the Year”.

In his new position as national sales manager, Barrett will bring a wealth of real-world dealership and retail sales experience to the Tigé sales team, according to Tigé CEO Charlie Pigeon.

“Terry has demonstrated the ability to build a successful dealership from the ground up,” Pigeon said, “and that experience will be a tremendous asset in meeting our need to aggressively expand our dealer network and increase sales for existing dealers. His longstanding dedication to our company plus his extensive knowledge of the Tigé product and our market means that Terry will likely have an immediate positive impact on our entire organization.”

Barrett said that healthy, successful dealers are essential to Tigé growth. “Dealers are key to making Tigé the most competitive boat company in the world,” he said. “I’ll be working hard to increase dealer margins and to help our dealerships achieve greater profitability and higher market share.

“I’m very excited to become an official member of the Tigé team,” Barrett continued. “Tigé has made its mark by offering an innovative, quality product that delivers exceptional performance and versatility. I look forward to helping our dealer network capitalize on our tremendous benefits and helping the entire Tigé organization achieve even greater success.”

Barrett will be moving to Abilene in mid-June to work out of the company’s headquarters and manufacturing facility.

Tigé Boats Inc. manufactures eight direct drive and sport V inboard models and has more than 80 dealers in 10 countries. For additional information, please contact Dustin Clark, Tigé media relations coordinator, at (325) 676-7777 or dclark@tige.com.
